Pre-Gamin’: Cubs v. Reds (6:10 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, etc.

great american ballparkNothing like facing a dominant team on the road to cure what ails ya!

Travis Wood has been great this year, but he’ll face a strong Reds lineup tonight (though a lot of that strength is on the left side of the plate).

    Now that’s a heart breaker.

  2. Jeff

    Sveum is a F@cking idiot!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Ramy16

God we fucking suck!!! Wow it’s hard being a Cubs fan! How much can we fans endure

  4. Whiteflag

This makes sick to my stomach!

  5. Jason Powers

And we’re tied! Listening on radio…Moreland reflects one shouldn’t leave their feet on the one-out play. Well a bad BP – and THEY LOSE AGAIN!

    Damn.

  6. another JP

    Only the Cubs…. unreal.

  7. Josh Kirby

These are the sort of games that make you love and hate baseball at the same time. Props to those Reds fans who stuck it out.

  8. Jiadisernia

I’m just at a loss of words….this happens way too often. There’s just nothing you can say any more

  9. Bill S

This is a disgrace to the city of Chicago and to all the fans. This season might be the worst ever at this pace.

  10. Dan

18 games into the season, and I can honestly say this season is over. You can book it. I’m just going to enjoy the Heat winning it all again.

  11. Ramy16

I’d rather watch a Chinese fire drill..this is unbelievable ..this comes down to piss poor management..Dale Svuem should be fired!

    1. Bill

Don’t give Theo a free pass. He’s put together this crappy bullpen, in consecutive years. Sveum is terrible but LaRussa couldn’t make this bullpen look good.

  12. Kramden

    Wow…. This is really bad.

I’m thinking anything less than 110 losses will be encouraging

  13. Bill

Theo is a genius. Only a genius could put together a bullpen and bench that is this bad. You’d really get the idea that Theo wants to lose games. Hmmm…. We have a manager who manages the end of games like he’s a drunk sailor. Again, by design? Why would you pull your starter, who’s cruising along, after 88 pitches? Ordered by Theo, to make sure Wood’s ERA stays low and make him more attractive to trade. We must sell off all the serviceable pieces. Theo, trade him now, we’d rather have prospects. What a horrible organization right now.

    1. Rudy

I doubt we trade Wood. He’s young and cost controlled… He just becomes part of the core if he keeps this up!

This team is really not as bad as it’s record. There are a lot of individual performances to root for and be encouraged by. We’ve had some really bad luck/errors. I dont know why anyone is so surprised though. We knew this was gonna happen. Just sit back and enjoy it. As B and B say, This is already ‘Fun Bad’!!!

  14. Jp3

What, no EBS? It should be an interesting one…

  15. Kramden

Bad players + a bad manager = a disastrous season

  16. Jiadisernia

What annoys me most is that the entire team plays with their heads down the entire game like a bunch of 12 year olds! You’re in the MLB shake off whatever you did and play baseball!

  17. hardtop

I was hoping the tank job of season two might have some bright spots, but instead its just been a series of blows to the spirits of the few decent players on this team. its gotta be harder to lose a good fight to a team vastly superior to you a than to just get plain blown out due to lack of talent.

  18. Kramden

Well, looks like Theo will have a top 3 draft pick for the next few years at the least.

  19. Korean Goat

I have no word to say. sigh. when the cubbies become big bears?

  20. curt

And the cubs find another new way to lose , good day mr.bowden the bus for Iowa leaves in the morning, and as far as sveum goes demote yrself, what’s the draft look like for 2014 I’m sure with this kind of play and managing were in the hunt for a top pick , another swell summer of listening to stupid cardinals fans oyyyy.

    1. auggie1955

I just hope Mr. Sappelt is on that bus too.
