I am awesome at taking pictures.

There’s going to be another one-day fantasy baseball contest this Friday, and it opens for you to sign up tomorrow (I’ll post about it big and bright). As the picture above indicates, the fun in this one: if you beat me, you get a bonus of $5. I always talk a big game in these things, but now I actually have to back it up, or I’m going to cost the good people at DraftStreet a lot of money. Note that this contest, unlike our previous ones, is not a free entry – it’s $11, but the prize pool ($500) is much larger. And there’s the $5 bonus thing.

The catch, and the reason I’m alerting you about this a day in advance of the contest opening up, is that the contest is limited to just 50 entries. I guess DraftStreet expects everyone to beat me, and they don’t want to be on the hook for thousands of dollars in bonuses.

I don’t know how many of you are already playing in cash games over at DraftStreet, but this is a pretty good opportunity to get your feet wet. It might fill up extremely quickly, though, so I’m just saying: be ready to get into the league when I post about it. (That’s not me “selling” you – I just really don’t know how much time you’ll have before it fills up, since we’ve never done this before.)

I’ll post about the contest tomorrow when the league officially opens up for entry, but you can go ahead and sign up for DraftStreet today if you haven’t already. Just sign up here (just fill out the registration stuff on the right, that’s all you need to create an account). If you plan to play in tomorrow’s contest, though, remember that it’s $11, so you’ll need to have some funds available to play (it is a business, after all).

Even setting aside the bonus money, the contest has a huge prize pool and a limited number of entries – that means you have a good chance of winning some actual big money with your skillz.

And you get a chance to beat the beautiful douche in the picture above.

Still not allowed for Iowa residents. Grumble.

      Grumble indeed.

Maybe we should just have our own Iowa contest and not let any other states play…

We did, it is called Powerball…

Ha! It’s called I-235 during rush hour with the boys state tournament in town.

Aw shucks, I really miss Des Moines. My wife grew up in Hong Kong, Singapore, and London, but with a baby on the way, I just might get my chance to move back to my favorite city not called Chicago.

I will hope to be one of the 50 :)

I won $5 in one of your free contests a while back and have turned that $5 into much more, I love that site!

Nice. You are the success story!

      (But Friday, you’re going down.)

How much is much more? I once turned $5 into $500 on fulltiltpoker then I turned that $500 into -$300 and never played again

I was up over $140 but lost a few and cashed out a little to buy Cubs tickets :)
        so now only have $22.95

I had the same experience with poker but I was on Poker Stars and never got up more then $300

Damn. I’d say turning $5 into $140 is a pretty impressive feat. I’ve lingered around $20 in my account for over a year now.
