Quantcast

bnpodcastimagesmallIt’s the 27th episode of a super awesome podcast featuring me and Sahadev Sharma. You can listen to the podcast there below, or download it for later listening. You can also subscribe via iTunes. Here’s your iTunes link, and you can also find it by searching in the iTunes store. For those of you who use other feed-catching services, here’s the podcast feed. For those of you just tuning in who want to catch up on prior episodes, here’s the whole lot.

As always, you can send questions, comments, etc. to the official podcast email address (podcast AT bleachernation DOT com) if you want your thoughts included on a future show. This week’s set got us into Javier Baez’s contact woes, the nature of platoons, the success of Luis Valbuena, and much more.

On this week’s episode we talk about the “good” rotation problem to have and how the Cubs might best solve it. We also get into the Ian Stewart roster saga, and our meet-up in Chicago last week.

We also look back fondly – and not fondly – on the last time Kevin Gregg was the Chicago Cubs’ closer. Ah, 2009. You were an interesting, and ultimately soul-crushing, year.

Enjoy:

Rather have Gregg than Marmol anyday.

Isn’t that like saying you’d rather have syphilis than herpes?

      • DarthHater

I think it’s more like saying you’d rather have herpes than syphilis. Hard to imagine anyone saying they’d rather have syphilis (or Marmol). :-P

  • mudge

There’s a cure for syphilis. I’d rather have Gregg.

    • leo l

      not if it is advanced

      • Timothy Scarbrough

I think it is fair to say that at this point, our case of Marmol is advanced.

    • Willrust

There was a report on AOL today that they may have a cure for the Herp now, so….

      • Cubbie Blues

Braun would like to know more.

RT @McCulloughSL Yankees acquired Cubs minor-league SS Alberto Gonzalez for either a PTBNL or cash. He’s headed to Scranton. Non-roster guy

      Woo. Hoo.

  • praying the cubs get ready to win

Why isn’t a team like Baltimore looking to trade to get some key veterans from the Cubs so they remain ahead of the Yanks and Red Sox?

Great, I finally meet my idol and don’t even get a shout out in his podcast. Just kidding. I don’t need a shout out (and your not my idol anymore either (sad face)). :P

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

Ha. That’s why I made sure to mention no one at all – I didn’t want to leave anyone out. :)

(Not that I would have left you out … )

Brett: I just listened to the podcast. Thanks for trying to answer my question on how some of the Cubs minor leaguers pronounce their names. As far as the swine flu, I had a friend die from it three years ago.
