nationals parkThe Cubs have a chance to take a series on the road from the Nationals. That’s pretty cool.

Scott Feldman will look to continue his ridiculous pitching streak, and it’s a might tough lineup he’ll have to do it against. Bryce Harper returns for the Nats, and Feldman will presumably aim for his toe early.

I get the feeling that Gio Gonzalez will destroy this lineup.

Hey, an early game. I’ll get a chance to see quite a bit of it before I go to bed. Oh the joys of working graveyard.

Borbon is 4 for 7 against Gio so why not start him? I hope Sweeney goes 2 for 4. If not, Dale gets more criticism from my part.

The criticism part?…Yea of course it will only be if they lose haha

    • JulioZuleta

So 4-7 with 4 singles, no BBs and a K are more important than his sub 600 OPS this season? It’s not like Sweeney has a bad track record against him, he’s never faced him in his career. People overrate this kind of stuff so much. How clearly do you think Julio Borbon remembers those ABs? The last time he faced him was 2 years ago yesterday, 5/11/11 for 2 ABs, before that it was 5 ABs in 2010, when Borbon was a bit more highly touted.

      • CeeDeeVee5811

Those 4 singles can be seen as doubles to me because of Borbon’s speed and the fact that the pitcher has to worry about him whether the pitcher is lefty or not. And you talk about overrated, well Borbon’s numbers are definately not what they seem. I’ve seen all of hid ABs this season and every one of thrm except for like 3 ABs have been been great contact. Don’t get me wrong, I like Sweeney, but I just thought today would of been a great day to see Borbon. Especially if he gets on in front of Rizzo who’s been red hot. Gio worries about Borbon, throws a mistake to Rizzo, and BAM it’s out of here.

      Borbon is the new Campana.

    Broken leg

Has anybody else noticed that the Cubs player at the start of the WGN game intro sequence is just skinny as all hell?

    • DaveY

      Is it Felix Pie?

  • DaveY

Ah how appropriate. During the leadoff man show they show a shot of the Capitol and there are couple american flags blowing in the wind. One is blowing to the right, the other to the left…

  • Die hard

Cubs will start playing at .500 clip with Castro at top

  • DaveY

Did Suzuki just spit on the umpire while yelling at him?

  • Die hard

So it is settled– Castro at top til his legs fall off and Cubs will play .500 ball rest of season–I will take it
