Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 5, Reds 4 – May 26, 2013

Whoa – a four-run comeback against a good team on the road? Small victories, I guess.

Matt Garza had a mixed second start today. On the one hand, he struck out nearly two Reds per inning … on the other hand, he pitched just four innings and gave up four earned runs. He wasn’t very economical with his pitches, and he was a little bit all over the place. Not the kind of dominant start you’d like to see, but, remember: it was just his second start in 10 months. There’s a process of getting back to where he was, and I’m optimistic he’ll get there.

On the other side of the bump, Johnny Cueto was not mixed in his second start back from a much shorter time away from the field. Thankfully the Reds’ bullpen was ready to give the game up to the Cubs. And the Cubs’ bullpen pulled a Johnny Cueto.

Was at the game today, Dioner Navarro gave my little nephew a ball during batting practice and then came back and autographed it. He is a class act.

Will we see Moscoso get the call up to replace Fujikawa?

    1. nkniacc13

I doubt it will likely be a reliever. Moscoso has been a starter at iowa

    2. Earl Cunningham

      I’m thinking Blake Parker.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Negrin get a shot although Parker or Putnam would be nice as well.

Went to a movie when they were down 4-0. Nice to come home and read about their awesome comeback!

More walks than KO usually equals a win– keep it up

I’d like to know what the percentage is of wins when yr team gives more walks I know it’s very high if u give more you usually lose

Those were some clutch 2 out hits. Neat comeback that we don’t get to see too often.

Great comeback. Sucks about Fuji. Will be interesting to see who gets the call up.

The bomb from Soriano was so good. Been awhile since we’ve been on the right side of that.

3-13 RISP isn’t going to win too many games unless your pitchers are having a great day.

Great win, every win is a great win.

Baseball, I was listening to the game in the back yard via the computer and the Cubs were playing dead in the water, and then suddenly Soriano hits a game tying 2 out HR….BAM

Then they hold the Reds to win….I can listen or watch them again with some hope.
