Will DeJesus know which side of the plate to stand on with a lefty on the mound? Has he seen one of those before?

  • SirCub

    Undefined. Well done, sir.

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

Had been hoping a Cubs pitcher would give me the opportunity to do that. No luck, so I went with Danks.

      • SirCub

You’ll get some more chances with the late season call-ups. Probably with their ERA’s…

        • Dynastyin2017

Hey, watch it. My career ERA is undefined! 7 BB, 8 hits, 13 R, 7 Earned (because I made 3 errors). Oh well.

  • DaveY

Looks like Hawk has the blue flu…

      The Will to Wimp 😛

  • Idaho Razorback

    Who’s subbing for Hawk?

  • ssckelley

I think Navarro wants to start.

  • baseballet

I noticed that Soriano leads the team in stolen bases. Pretty amazing.

  • Idaho Razorback

I just saw Carlos Villanueva warming up in the bullpen. No more awesome mustache.

      Tidrow does not approve

      • Die hard

Cubs GM in waiting would encourage all to grow facial hair like Finleys As of yore

  • Jp3

Brett, I believe you set the over/ under hr for dnavarro at 5 did you not?

    • http://www.bleachernation.com Brett

      This game. Yes.

  • RY

    Rally killer Castro

  • DarthHater

    Whoa, Navarro!!!

    • willis

So, he’s seeing the ball well today. Wow.

  • DarthHater

Question of the day: When was the last time a Cub hit 3 home runs in one game?

    • http://bleachernation.com someday…2015?

I’m guessing Soriano against the Braves a few years back.

      • willis

Was at that game, was at the whole series. Hudson plunked him the next night then Lilly returned the favor the following night. Great fireworks. Loved Ted Lilly.

    • DarthHater

According to mlb.com: Most Home Runs — 3 (36 times) Most recent: Aramis Ramirez 9/16/2004

      • http://bleachernation.com someday…2015?

I believe Soriano had a 3 home run game against the Braves on June 8th, 2007. I dont think there has been a 3 home run games since.

        • DarthHater

Hmm. That appears to be correct. Somebody should tell mlb.com.

    Unbelievable game for Dio!

  • BT

Where are all the comments saying what a great job Sveum did putting Navarro in today? I know if he was 0-4 there would be a ton saying what a complete know-nothing assclown he was for playing him, so the opposite must the true, right?

    • willis

My guess is this was planned well ahead of time (day game after a night game type of thing) but yes, props to him for sticking to this plan even with the rain shortened game last night. He could have easily played Castillo again, especially with his big homer last night being taken away from Mother Nature, but Sveum stuck to the plan and it turned out well. Props to him. Dude is raking today.

    • Die hard

Broke clock right twice a day

      • farmerjon

        Is a broke clock right 3 x a day?

  • Rizzo44

Guess who’s the starting catcher tommorow???

    • Dynastyin2017

Navarro is 1 for 3 against Peavy. Castillo hasn’t faced him. So, why not?

  • ssckelley

Quick, put Navarro on the trade block!

    • Kyle

Honestly, I think we’ll get something for him at the deadline. Not a lot, but veteran catchers are always in demand.

      • ssckelley

Hey if the Cubs can get something out of Geovany Soto then clearly they can get something out of a guy who can hit 3 homers in 1 game. 😀

  • Kenster

And to think I hoped Castillo would get the start today in fairness of his HR not counting yesterday.. Good job for Navarro! In very very limited ABs he’s 2nd on the team in HRs lol

    • ssckelley

He needs to be batting 4th, protecting Rizzo!

  • demz

    was that against the brewers?

  • cub2014

    hey brett,
after talking about prospective infielders, is steven bruno hurt?
i like him as much as the others. last i saw he was hitting .365
    again this year.
