Sometimes you finish a marathon, and sometimes you WIN a marathon. Bam.

Jeff Samardzija was not at his sharpest today – 14 base runners in 6 innings – but the Cubs’ offense came back late to tie things up, and then they outlasted the Reds in 14 innings, with Julio Borbon providing the walk-off heroics. It didn’t give the Cubs the series, but at least it prevented the sweep. Moral victories!
