If you haven’t already, there’s still plenty of time to join the one-day, free fantasy baseball contest, which will be based on Friday’s games. The contest has cash prizes, and signing up helps support Bleacher Nation – so, like, do it.

The full contest details are here. The gist is this: you go to Draftstreet, you sign up, you pick a roster of players from Friday’s games, and you watch your guys rack up points for you on Friday. The top scoring team wins $100, and the next 14 teams win cash, in declining order of awesomeness.

It’s truly a lot of fun, it’s free, and it’s easy. Sign up now.

Hopefully this time half my lineup won’t get rained out like the last time…that sucked!

    Dibs on last.

I’m going to have to make sure to re-check my lineup on Friday morning. A few of my guys have pulled DNP’s the last couple of times we did this.

Interesting article regarding the Tribune Co., Sam Zell, and the IRS. Hopefully this will not negatively impact the Ricketts family or the Cubs.

That’s going to take some digesting. Very hard to see it negatively impacting the Ricketts or the Cubs in any significant way – unwinding the transaction is not a real possibility, just a penalty imposed on the Tribune – but I’m going to have to think on that.

I’m not a bankruptcy attorney so I add a ginormous caveat to my next statement, but, thank goodness for the Ricketts family that this was a Chapter 11 and not a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, because, if it were, it would have been possible for the trustee to come after the Ricketts family if it were determined that, by their acts, they helped to defraud the Trib’s creditors.
