Not a Rumor: Another Free $300 One-Day Fantasy Baseball Contest

DraftStreet Banner

If you need to take a step back from the rumor mill – I probably do – here’s a fun, free way to do it.

Thanks to Draftstreet, we get to do another free, one-day fantasy baseball contest this week, based on Friday’s games. By performing the simple task of signing up, you (1) give yourself a chance to win part of the $300 prize pool on Friday, (2) guarantee that you’ll have some fun on Friday, and (3) support your friendly neighborhood hang-out, Bleacher Nation. These promotions help keep BN free for you to read and use, so your participation is appreciated.

Flashing Lights: Sign Up Here.

This week, we’re doing a salary cap league, which is a heck of a lot of fun. Basically, you’ve got a $100,000 salary cap to work with, and every available player is going to cost a certain amount of your available dollars. Sure, you can grab Miguel Cabrera, but he might cost you 30% of your entire pool. You might have to get creative, but that’s the fun. You can adjust your roster up until the contest starts on Friday, July 12 at 3:05 CT, at which time your rosters will lock and the Live Scoreboard will be available.

You can actually pick Cubs players for this one … if you want.

As always, the best part of the contest is the free chance to win some cash. There’s $300 to be won, and 15 of you will win some money. The top score gets $100 and second place gets $60, so there’s a lot of money to be made at the top of this one.

So, to recap: sign up for the contest now. Build your roster. Tweak your roster throughout the week as you see fit. Have some fun on Friday when the games are played. Win some money. For free. You’re welcome.

*Note: residents of some States are not eligible to play, so if you’re blocked out for that reason, my most humble apologies.

    Over 7,000 now… Nice!

Great! I encourage everyone to sign up! I randomly signed up for my first one last year and won $30. Check came after I had to correct my street address in their system and cashed easily. It’s so worth your 5 minutes of time.

Off topic but my God, the lineup today is one of the saddest things I have seen in a while. Dave Sappelt, Julio Borbon, Cody Ransom, Darwin Barney, Dioner Navarro, Wellington Castillo? Not exactly murderer’s row.

    1. Cedlandrum

I thought the same thing. Yikes.

    2. On The Farm

This was my thinking at first look. My heart actually sunk, good thing Garza is pitching otherwise I might have found something to do around the house.

      1. willis

        I don’t know…against a lefty I’m good with it, except Sappelt. I hate him.

The pickins are thin though, no doubt.

        1. JulioZuleta

I’m not 100% certain that Dave Sappelt is better than me at baseball.

          1. willis

After yesterday it’s probably to say you are faster. That dude was out at second by a long ways.

            1. JulioZuleta

I consider myself to be a Miguel Cabrera/Tony Campana Hybrid. Triple Crown Bat with Olympic speed. Maybe instead of the hybrid I can just say that I’m a rich man’s Mike Trout.

              1. Crockett

I thought you meant Campana’s power and Cabrera’s speed? No?

                1. On The Farm

Or Miggy’s booze problem with Campan’s ability to stick on a roster

                2. JulioZuleta

Hah nice. I’ll have you know that I did win MULTIPLE house league Homerun Derbies. Show some respect.

              2. DarthHater

So what you’re saying is that you have the size and power of a Tony Campana and the speed of a Miguel Cabrera, right?

                1. JulioZuleta

I love that you were beaten to that joke by Crockett. Slow on the trigger today, Darth.

                  1. DarthHater

                    It’s Monday and there’s a head-splitting disturbance in the Force…

                  2. Crockett

It’s Monday at 3:14pm CDT. I assume Darth is already half in the bag. I mean, I haven’t seen a single meme today.

                    1. DarthHater

No, I posted a man-eating giant panda this morning. :-D

Darth’s half in the bag, but it apparently took you three minutes to type from “CDT” on. We’re all at lleeaasstt half in the bag.

                    3. Stinky Pete

Pffft. Show me a man-eating Mini Panda and I will be impressed.

                    4. Crockett

I blame Microsoft and their horrid internet clock.

                    5. DarthHater

Can’t be done. Mini Pandas are invariably cute.

They’re cute when young, but by the time they reach their teenage years they look more like this: panda.jpg

                    7. JulioZuleta

Dammit, that’s a panda holding a machine gun. I give up with pictures.

                    8. DarthHater

He looks like a member of the Pandalese Liberation Army.
