wrigley field from right bleachersThe Dodgers come to town for the first time this year, which means a first look at Yasiel Puig (and Carlos Marmol in a Dodgers uniform). Chris Rusin will try to hold down a strong Dodgers lineup as he continues his bid to stick in the rotation. It’s been so far, so good on that front.

What a play by Barney! :-)

  • Rebuilding

That was a hell of a play by Lake

  • mudge

Cubs are playing a more talented team hard. Enjoying this one win or lose.

  • John

I really hope the Cubs acquire some good relievers this winter. No more rule 5 guys like Hector Rondon and Lendy Castillo. Scott Downs and Jesse Crain would be at the top of my list.

  • ssckelley

They should have pinch hit Wood for Barney.

  • willis

Weird, Rondon came in and gave up a run.

    • ssckelley

He lowered his ERA only giving up 1 run.

I think ideally the best role for Lake is a super utility player who can play all over the field. Sort of like Ben Zobrist. But in his super utility role he’d play almost everyday giving starters a day of rest all over field. LF, CF, RF, 3rd, SS, 2nd. Ideally you’d want him to spot start sparingly at 3rd and SS but mainly the other position. I’m not sure his defense will ever big league average at any position but in a utility role could great with the bat
