Pre-Gamin’: Nationals v. Cubs (1:20 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, etc.

wrigley field from right bleachersStephen Strasburg makes a stop at Wrigley Field today, which considerably less hype than in the recent past. Still, I’m excited to see him in person for the first time.

I’ll be at today’s game in the right field bleachers (as close to the LED board as possible), with a blue BN shirt and blue/yellow shoes. If you see me, say hey.

Watching Castro is cringe-worthy right now. Well, all season. And I know we had a huge discussion the other day about attitude and body language, but he just looks miserable up there. Giving up his at bats before he even gets into the box. He was such a great and confident hitter and now…it’s just awful.

I don’t know what they do about him. But it’s been painful and it’s carrying over to all sides of his game.

Javy HBP on the wrist. Hope he’s ok. Looking at his hand right now.

    1. someday...2015?

… he stays in. Ump called the HBP a strike. Javy stayed in and finished the AB.

How long til James Rowson gets the ax?

Baez should be called up in Sept & replace Castro. I don’t care how much he is payed, he needs to go down the AZ and work on his offense & defense! Making that big salary extension made him lazy! Murphy will make a good 3rd basemen. We need offense!!

not sure i can take any post seriously that has “Murphy will make a good 3rd basemen.” in it.

Another Johnny come lately to the demote Castro party… Well the more the merrier I guess🎁🎉🎈

If we demote Castro its going to throw a monkey wrench into the FO’s plans of trading him for a top prospect like Byron Buxton

      1. Drew7

We get it, man. You place more value on prospects and less on ML-talent than most of us.

      2. Blublud

SMH at this dude. I give up.

Never mind the numerous posters pointing out the fact that Castro, by way of service time, can refuse an outright assignment.

Castro’s defense has never been better. So he’s not bringing his at the plate struggles with him in the field. I wish he would correct those jumping throws he takes at second base force outs when jumping for the throw is unneccessary. I believe he will bounce back and be better than ever next season.

Power aside, Baez and Castro have more in common than the “let’s replace Castro with Baez” argument assumes.

    Brett-

I was at the game too today with my 17 mo. Old daughter. She hung tight for 8+ innings; just enough to watch the cubs tie it up. Im still shocked. Couldn’t make it to see you in the bleachers but hopefully your homestand here went well. Go cubs

  9. Die hard

If you believe in the law of averages the Cubs extended home stand could yield a long winning streak making the end of days somewhat bitter sweet 😀😞

I see why there was talk of putting Bryant at Kane County rather than the more challenging high A team in Daytona. Team just had it’s 11th rainout in the month of August alone. They haven’t played since Sunday. Tonight was actually on the road so you can’t blame the drainage in the home park, probably bad drainage in every ballpark. .
