pnc parkJake Arrieta goes for the Cubs on Friday the 13th. It would be more ominous if the Cubs weren’t 22 games under .500.

Game Info

I like to see what this Barney guy and Valbuna guy can do…ugh!

for the talent we have, this isn’t the worst lineup.
I would probably swap Bogus for Lake, but they seem to have a plan in regards to how much Lake is played.

and of course the obvious omission of the ever-so-scrappy Babe Watkins

it’s sad to see our lineup.. the only names that jump out as legit pieces are hitting a combined .230.. sad, sad lineup.

How does Arrieta do tonight on a scale of TOR, Good, “servicable,” bad, or cubes?

I look at things like this lineup, and find myself fed up with Dale, people can talk about the FO and dale having some kind of plan for how much lake is played, but with Rizzo at .230 and holding, shouldn’t we perhaps think about modifying his “Plan” as well? But strangely, I still see his name in the lineup every day.

What they are doing is limiting his time so that he has less chance to slip dramatically from his current numbers, so that he can be pointed out as a reason for optimism when they send the STH renewal letters.

I think it is pretty evident that a fan interfered on the Alvarez inside-the-parker. His arms were fully extended, over the railing. If it gets called, then Alvarez probably ends up on second or third, depending on where the Umps place him, and it changes the entire complexion of the inning.

Whats the measurement on Rizzo’s HR… HOLY!

    1. TOOT

Not sure. But the word is the ball ctually left PNC park and hit someone one a boat in the Allegeny river at the time. If true, I think that would make it a 500 foot homer!

    2. TOOT

Also, I think Rizzo would be the first person to hit a ball into the river since PNC Park was built.
