2014 Cubs ConventionWhether the Cubs are good or bad, and whether they’re expected to be good or bad going into the next season, one of my favorite annual events is the Cubs Convention. Round up a bunch of diehard Cubs fans, cram them all together in a hotel, put on a bunch of panel discussions, and let folks just have some Cubs-related fun in January. It’s one of those things that you know is a little silly, but is a blast if you just grant yourself permission to enjoy it all the same.

Today, passes for the weekend went on sale (and no, this isn’t an advertisement – I just go every year, and want as many BN’ers as possible there representing/having fun), and you should be able to buy them here. It’s $60 for the weekend at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers (or you can buy a hotel package).

The Convention runs January 17 to 19, and we’ll have a get-together or two over that weekend. I hope to see many of you there!

You realize, of course, that people will now expect you to actually wear bells to the convention:

I’m there this year. Since the wife has been playing nice since I went to NC last weekend, maybe I can talk her into coming with me and cop a hotel package. Is $466 the price for one person or 2.

If you have never been, it’s a must do like the wrigley tour.
