71014_moneyhappiness_vl-verticalAll right, procrastinators. It’s go time. Make it happen.

The free BN one-day fantasy baseball contest is today, based on today’s games. If you want to sign up and play, you’ve got until the 6pm CT (7pm ET) games kick off tonight to sign up and get your roster set. It only takes a few minutes, so get on it now and join the fun.

In short: you pick a roster of players based on today’s games, watch them rack up points, and try to beat the other BN’ers playing. The top score gets $100, second place gets $60, and the next 13 win some cash. Those are some pretty good odds of winning something. Also, signing up helps support BN, so you’ll get that good feeling for yourself, too. And I will, by extension, get your good feeling, too.

Here’s where you sign up and build your team.

Here’s the full details on the contest.

And if you’re feeling PARTICULARLY greedy, you can go for the $20,000 contest, which comes with a $3,000 prize to the winner (and then a whole bunch of people after that win some cash). It costs $11 to enter, but that’s because the prize pool is huge. I’ve got my lineup ready to go in that one, and the $3,000 is mine. Don’t even hope for that. Shoot for second place.

Damn you web filters! I can’t play!

    • Funn Dave

      Same here.

  • Scombs

Very upset they don’t have Bonifacio or Olt in the set of available players in this game…both are potentially good sleeper/value picks.

I’m curious, why was the winner allowed to have 3 starting pitchers. I sometimes don’t read everything I’m supposed to, but I thought we were only allowed 2 starters and a relief pitcher.

I actually have no idea – I thought you had to have two SP and one RP, too. And none of those three are even questionable as to their role. Not sure how he did that. Are we wrong maybe?

      • Soda Popinski

“P” can be either starter or reliever. There were two SP spots and one P.
“RP” would be for relievers only.

So, what you’re saying is that we’re idiots.

          • Soda Popinski

Haha. You said it, not me.

  • Zogie

Hope you all feel great about a BIG CUBS FAN taking home the main prize in the Draftstreet Free BN Contest. Thank Brett for making in happen!

I saw that, Zogie, and I was very pleased to see your name up there. Congrats, and congrats for being one of the few people (apparently) to wisely use three SP instead of two SP and a RP. Very crafty, sir.

      • Zogie

Yep had to find some diamonds in the rough for the hitters, but always go with 3 SP.

        • Soda Popinski

Congrats, Zogie! I was placed in the 1,000s. lol.
