Our illustrious partners at DraftStreet occasionally run gigantic fantasy baseball contest, in addition to the smaller – still fun – daily stuff. A week from Friday, they’re running just a such a contest, with a $100,000 prize pool. First place takes home $20,000, which could buy a lot of sandwiches. Hell, even finishing in 7th place wins you $1500. (The top 750 win some cash.)
Why am I telling you about a contest that takes place on Friday, April 25? Well, because the smart people at DraftStreet realized you may want to get yourself ready for that big contest by playing in some smaller ones in advance.
Here’s how it works: every day until the big contest next Friday, you can play in a “satellite league” for just a dollar. If you do well in that day’s league, you can automatically win your way into the big contest next week (without having to pay the $22 entry fee). You can also just wait until next week and pay the $22 to get into the big league, but why wait? Play in a satellite league this week for a dollar, and lock in your spot now. Just sayin’.
The contests are pick ‘em style, in which you are given eight tiers of players to choose from, and you choose one player from each tier. If your team of eight scores you a lot of points that day, you win stuff. That’s it. Pretty simple, and it makes that day’s games a lot of fun.
(A bonus for DraftStreet first timers: anything you deposit when you sign up, they’ll match it with a bonus of up to $200.)
