Quantcast

wrigley field from right bleachersThe Cubs have lost five in row, and it ain’t because of the pitching. We’ll see if both ends of that hold true again today, with Edwin Jackson starting, and the lineup stacked with righty bats to face lefty Tony Cingrani.

I won’t even mention Jackson’s hilariously inflated .396 BABIP, which is almost certainly the primary reason for his elevated ERA, because I know that’s not what people want to hear about Jackson.

The Cubs have scored just one run over their last three games. Woof.

If the Cubs lose today, they lock in their sixth straight series loss to open the season. Double woof.

Olt reminding us again why he can’t start against righties.

    • half_full_beer_mug

  • Beast Mode

Barney in the 4 spot next game? Everyone else has been there.

  • cubmig

    ….BARNEY!!!!

    …….oddity, absurbity, luck….who cares! I’lltake it!!!

  • willis

As much as we knock on Barney for his bat, that HR was huge. The way things were starting to come unhinged…yo. Huge insurance runs, and then Lake gets the cubs one more. Love it.

  • Funn Dave

We are so lucky they got greedy.

  • cubmig

oh …..if only Olt could field like Barney!!!!!

  • cubmig

    Fuck Yeah BEEF!!!!!!

    you-da-man!!!

  • half_full_beer_mug

Wonder what is up with Rizzo? Hopefully it isn’t anything but a little rest.

    • roz

On one hand, I don’t want Rizzo to be injured. On the other hand, I don’t want to think that Renteria took our best hitter out of the lineup in the 8th inning of a game merely to give him some rest.

      • DocPeterWimsey

It could be an intermediate scenario. If Rizzo tweaked something going over the tarp, then it’s a sensible precaution to take him out, particularly given that the Cubs had a decent lead.

  • Eternal Pessimist

Nice 0-5 w/ Barney putting him out to end the game…time for a cold one.
