miller parkLast night’s game never really felt like the Cubs were in it, despite the fact that it wasn’t really a blowout. With Travis Wood on the mound today, at least there will be a potent bat at the bottom of the lineup.

Mike Olt is back in the lineup at third base, and, once again, Luis Valbuena slides over to second base against righty Marco Estrada.

Can Wood improve upon his .333/.429/1.000 batting line? I say yes. As in, yes please.

Expecting bat flip .gif love to come

    • JasonP

Valbuena really let me down there, no bat flip. Maybe he just saves them for singles and flyouts?

Also, I hate Ryan Braun more and more every moment. I don’t even like him for taking out Segura

      • cubbiekoolaid2015

Just think, if Castro roided like that scumbag Braun he’d be 2-2 with 2 HRs today. Makes me hate the guy even more.

      • nakedman1664

No bat flip!? Trade him. Right now.

  • mjhurdle

man, tough luck for castro. barely missing a 2 hr night

  • cubmig

Valbuena just became BALL-buena. I wish I could be happy about the run he just contributed to a lost cause. I’m too damn greedy for blowout wins by the Cubs that a tease doesn’t do a fuckin’ thing.

Gotta’ go. I am recording game. will check out how it turns out later tonight.

Take care all……drink a few to lessen the pain if needed.

  • JasonP

    Really rough night for Wood.

  • JasonP

    Atta baby Valbuena!!!!

  • cubbiekoolaid2015

What a play by Valbuena to track that ball down, out run it, recover, catch it, and then whip around and nail the guy at the plate. Just awesome.

  • http://bleachernation.com woody

How about a little love for Valbuena. The most under rated guy on the team.

  • JasonP

That pitch was about shoulder high, would have liked to see Nate take that walk, or have turned into that pitch that almost hit him.. Need some traffic on the bases. Estrada has yet to pitch from the stretch

  • http://bleachernation.com woody

Alcantara had five hits in seven plate appearances in a 13 inning game. Bryant has hit a homer and is two for four in that game.

    • Rebuilding

Bryant with his 5th HR and 5th SB. Showing some surprising speed and/or base running instincts. Baez 1-7 with 2 more Ks. He’s really struggling

    • Chad

Did I miss Bryant getting called up to AAA or are you talking about two different games?

  • Ed

What ever happened to alberto cabrera?

    • Chad

      AAA bullpen

  • Seabee

Talking about AA team. They are in extra innings also. Bryant might get another chance to hit again.

  • Titan

Despite his pitch framing issues, I’m loving the HR power Castillo is showing so far this year.

  • Diehardthefirst

I must have missed the memo but who approved Castro batting clean-up? Theo must be on a safari outside of cell phone range- when the cats away etc

  • baldtaxguy

    Wow, Strop looked very good.

  • renegade4196

Cubs cannot hit this guy for anything.

  • Dustin S

About time for me to resub milb.tv. No time now between the Cubs and hockey playoffs. But it definitely would be fun to catch some more Iowa and Smokies games.

And another replay on a not even that close throw to first…

  • Funn Dave

As a Wisconsinite, I really fucking hate losing to the Brewers.

  • Diehardthefirst

Can the Rooftoppers sue the Cubs for not winning? Buds Brewers may force the Rooftoppers to set up shop on 94 just to torment Bud- poetic justice at its finest
