I’m very sorry to say that Kris Bryant did not homer yesterday. That the Tennessee Smokies didn’t play hardly seems like an excuse, though.

Since I can’t brighten your morning with some Bryant #sparkle, perhaps you’ll be interested in some #RizzOMG instead. In last night’s win over the Pirates, Rizzo got things started in the first by obliterating a Francisco Liriano offering:

Rizzo also added a couple doubles in the game, raising his slash line from .276/.401/.486 to .284/.406/.514 (that’s a 33-point OPS jump). His wOBA increased 12 points to .398, and his wRC+ increased 8 points to 151. Those are crazy numbers.

How crazy?

The wOBA is good for 13th in baseball, and the wRC+ is good for 15th. Among NL first basemen, Anthony Rizzo is your leader in: OBP, wOBA, wRC+, BB/K, and WAR.
