Man, whatever the situation with the Cubs this season … that was just a fun game. Homers from important players, a great pitching performance from a young starter and the bullpen. Good defense. An easy win.

Kyle Hendricks was solid in his second start – about which, more tomorrow – and his performance underscored how valuable it can be to get lots of grounders, and the Cubs wound up turning four double plays on the night.

Anthony Rizzo continues to be unbelievable and Arismendy Alcantara continues to be COOKIES!
