Thanks to a late night removal on Monday, and a long travel day yesterday, we’ve had to live with the knowledge that Jorge Soler was coming for almost two days before he actually plays in a game with the big league team. Monday wasn’t Jorge Soler Day. Tuesday wasn’t Jorge Soler Day.

TODAY is Jorge Soler Day. Hooray!

Presumably, the slugging outfielder will start for the Cubs tonight – as they’re in the midst of a nice winning stretch, I might add – and we can see the next big thing to arrive on the Chicago Cubs. Is this process guaranteed to result in a series of playoff appearances, let alone a World Series? Nope. But it’s been a long, hard stretch of years for fans, and these promotions are among the first tangible pieces of payoff for our patience. We deserve to enjoy these moments.

So let’s party!
