Today’s was a mostly forgettable game featuring poor command from Jake Arrieta, tons of strikeouts from the Cubs, and a lackluster offense until a little burst in the 9th.
But I ain’t mad.
Even great teams – and I’m not saying the Cubs are a great team (yet) – have games like this, and you do your best to flush it away and move on to the next. Random notable things: I dug seeing Starlin Castro and Jorge Soler have another couple hits. Chris Coghlan got tossed for arguing a strikeout (review indicated he was mistaken). The bullpen was solid.
