It was not a courteous return from the disabled list for Matt Garza, who was knocked around by the Cubs, and lasted just three innings. On the other side of the bump, Kyle Hendricks was something of an extreme version of himself tonight: 5.2 innings (just 80 pitches) without giving up a walk OR recording a strikeout. That’s nuts.

It’s worth noting that Javier Baez not only did not strike out tonight, but he had a double and a walk, too. We can’t dwell in the bad stuff and then not point out the good. This is all part of the process.

The Cubs’ bullpen was nails, as they’ve been lately, and the Cubs won again. This team, man. April cannot get here quickly enough.
