Like his first start with the Cubs, Felix Doubront had some shaky moments early before settling down and cruising (albeit only for five innings total in this one). It didn’t really matter, though, as even the two runs he gave up would have been plenty for the Pirates to win. That is to say, the Cubs were shut out.

The game was not without intrigue, though, as Arodys Vizcaino finally made his Cubs debut after a couple years. He gave up two hits, one of which was a homer, and struck out one.
