SHUFFLE: Cubs Reportedly Moving Northwest League Affiliation to the Eugene Emeralds

Of the three minor league affiliates with which the Chicago Cubs didn’t renew player development contracts, the Boise Hawks were seen as the most likely to be leaving the organization. With Kane County and Daytona already out, this was a fait accompli:

I will have more on this tomorrow, particularly if the Cubs confirm. Eugene’s training facilities, if I’m not mistaken, are associated with the University of Oregon, which is very well set up. So this could be great.

Boise and Eugene play in the short-season Low-A Northwest League.
