At the close of the 2014 Chicago Cubs season – all in all, a positive step in the process – I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who read, shared, and/or commented here at BN. I quite literally couldn’t do what I do without all of you, so I am very appreciative. It was “positive” year for the Cubs, and I’d have to say the same for BN, which hopefully serves as a vehicle by which Cubs fans can experience their fandom, and develop a deeper appreciation for the team and sport they love. That’s pretty much the overall site goal right there.

And if you want an idea of the scope of the community to which you belong, year to date, BN has been home to about 17.8 million page views from about 860,000 different people. Some of you are a touch more obsessed than others, but let’s just say there are a lot of you out there. I’m obliged and humbled to be a part of your Cubs experience, and I really can’t thank you enough.

If you’ll forgive a little cheesiness, I’m pretty excited that we’re all going to get to share the next step of the Cubs’ progress together in the coming years. Yeah, it’s a job, but I also like you people, and, in the Cubs, we’ve got something very cool in common.

Speaking of which, you don’t stop thinking about the Cubs just because the season ended, and neither do I. So I won’t stop writing about ’em. That is to say, there is no break at BN. You can expect posting to continue as normal tomorrow, and throughout the offseason. There will be plenty to read about the Cubs, Cubs prospects, and MLB here at BN in the coming days, weeks, and months. So, enjoy reading it. I enjoy writing it.

Once again: thank you for a great season. See you tomorrow.

Why that picture? Shrug. I was at a Wild West Festival with the family this weekend, and I thought it was a fun shot. Totally not at all staged so that I could post it on BN in a show of self-indulgence. Totally not. It’s a META post, dude. I can do what I want. The title warned you.

Keep Reading BN ...
