BNTV Saber Shorts: wOBA, and Why It’s Better Than OPS


Because we routinely use advanced statistics and sabermetrics around here, and because not everyone is interested in reading up on the concepts around the web, I thought it would be helpful for BN’ers for me to put together a series of short videos on some of the most important sabermetric ideas. Today’s advanced statistic is wOBA, which you see referenced on here quite frequently. It’s one of the best comprehensive offensive statistics out there, which is why I use it so much. But what is it? Well, here you go:
