Pre-Gamin’: Royals v. Cubs (3:05 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

cubs park shoesJason Hammel makes his third start for the Cubs, likely hoping to have a smooth outing after his first two were interrupted by homers and Will Ferrell. I’ll be there with The Wife and The Little Girl in tow, so hopefully it’s just a fun game.

Today’s game is not televised, but you can listen to the audio on I’ll try to offer some tidbits from the game, myself, but, to be frank, my aim is going to be ensuring that The Little Girl has a good time at her very first baseball game.

Today’s lineup:

  1. Dexter Fowler, CF
  2. Chris Denorfia, DH
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Starlin Castro, SS
  5. Miguel Montero, C
  6. Junior Lake, RF (At the park, it says Soler is in RF)
  7. Javier Baez, 2B
  8. Mike Olt, 3B
  9. Matt Szczur, LF

Junior Lake starts in right field, rather than left, which is a nod to his expanding outfield versatility. Much like Szczur, Lake is a guy who is probably optioned to Iowa to start the year, but has a real shot at making an impact off of the bench this season at the big league level, depending on how things shake out.
