Folks have strong opinions about sports business-y guy Darren Rovell. I’m not really going to get into that, other than to say that he’s anointed himself something of a Twitter expert, which made this evening’s #CubsTwitter shenanigans all the more enjoyable.

First, Rovell shared a picture he’d received from a Cubs season ticket holder:

Seeing the tweet, the Cubs’ Twitter account offered some fun:

Being that I approve of all cats, photobombing or otherwise, I enjoyed.

Rovell responded with an easy chide:

And that’s when the Cubs’ Twitter account burned Rovell to the ground:

Simple. Harmless. Effective. Even Rovell had to acknowledge:

If you hadn’t noticed over the past few months, the Cubs are stepping up their Twitter game substantially, and this is just the latest win. So, if you weren’t following – or if, God forbid, you aren’t on Twitter – check them out. I suspect you’re really going to want to be following them this season.
