It Happened: Wrigley Field Officially Has a Video Board

Chicago Cubs News

The final panels went in today, and, although it hasn’t been turned on yet (here’s hoping they built it close enough to an outlet), it’s official: Wrigley Field has a large video board in left field.

What may have sounded like an April Fool’s Day joke 10 years ago is definitely not one today. Welcome to the future:

It’s big, and it’ll be a big change. But I’m totally on board for the future of Wrigley Field. The board might be the single most impactful, noticeable change at the old ballpark, but I am confident that it will be integrated tastefully, and fans will ultimately come to appreciate the replays, expanded stats, and features. I can’t wait to see this in action on Sunday.

And, yes, the Cubs will appreciate the added revenue.
