wrigley outfieldIncredibly and impressively, the Chicago Cubs are today going for the four-game sweep over the New York Mets, who started Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Matt Harvey in the first three games. The Cubs can beat Jon Niese, right?

After an unsuccessful quest to trade him this offseason, the Mets have been the benefactor of great results from Niese so far this year. The performance underlying those results has been merely “good,” but that’s still, you know, good.

Travis Wood takes the ball for the Cubs, coming off a couple rough outings. He’s one of eight righty bats in the lineup today for the Cubs against the lefty Niese (if you count Dexter Fowler as a righty for these purposes).
