Unlike the loss on Sunday to the Pirates, which didn’t really feel all that bad, the loss to the Padres was a real wall-puncher.
Jason Hammel was fantastic once again, and the bullpen pitched plenty well enough to win the game for the Cubs. Chris Coghlan homered twice, and Dexter Fowler went deep, too.
So, how does a team lose a game when they homer three times, get excellent pitching, and post a 10/0 K/BB ratio in the game?
