Good team? Bad team? The Cubs’ll beat ’em all right now.

Dan Haren was once again acceptable, if not overwhelming. The homers are always going to be the bugaboo, and a two-run shot by Adam Lind was the primary bit of damage done off of Haren tonight. The bullpen took over from there and allowed bupkis. (Bupkis and bugaboo in a single paragraph. Gotta think of a way to get Beelzebub in here.)

The Cubs’ offense worked over Brewers pitching in this one, even if they didn’t tally an enormous number of runs. Brewers pitchers had to throw 186(!) pitches in just eight innings. That could pay dividends in the coming two games, too.
