Pre-Gamin’: Brewers v. Cubs (7:05 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

wrigley outfieldThey might be Giants.

But they’re not. They’re just Brewers.

God, that was awful. Sorry.

After a huge, drama-filled series sweep this weekend, the Cubs now host the depleted, lowly Brewers after an off-day. It’s the perfect recipe for a let-down game if I’ve ever seen one, but I’m not actually sure that’s a real thing that exists outside of ex post facto narratives.

Dan Haren makes start number two for the Cubs. Start number one, which came in Pittsburgh, really wasn’t all that bad, but it didn’t translate into a win – the only time that’s happened for the Cubs in a long time. I’m hoping for six solid innings and a chance to win. That’s all you can ask for from a fifth starter, and, for the last few years, that’s what Haren has reliably been. Be that guy, Dan.

On the other bump is Taylor Jungmann, who’s been something of a revelation for the Brewers, though lefties are handling him at close to a league-average clip. The Cubs have a lineup full of ’em today, so maybe they can put something together early.

The Cubs stick with the lineup that worked the last three games, but that means a little bit of potentially dicey defense behind Haren, who doesn’t strike many guys out.

Roster moves before the game, if you missed them.
