Chicago Cubs 2016 NL Central Championship Gear

us cellular fieldThe Chicago White Sox are not a bad team. They haven’t been a great team, and they undoubtedly didn’t meet expectations after a spendy offseason, but they’re plenty good enough to win a couple games in this series.

Jeff Samardzija gets his first start against the Cubs since he was traded a little over a year ago to the A’s. I suspect he’ll be extra amped up for this one, which, with Samardzija, usually meant he pitched pretty well. The Cubs faced him in Spring Training back in March and got really homer happy, for what that’s worth.

Kyle Hendricks has been steadily solid all year, and here’s hoping he can go deep into this one.

The White Sox took two of the first three games in the Crosstown Cup, so, if the Cubs want to win it outright this year, they’ll have to sweep. They’ve swept their last two series, though, so you can pretty much bank on it.*

*Just kidding wrathful gods of jinxes.
