Yesterday, I followed the Cubs/Cardinals game as I cleaned out the garage. I needed something to do rather than sitting at my computer and stressing for 3+ hours straight. As it turned out, the Cubs blew the Cardinals away, and it was lovely to watch/listen while I sweated in the garage.
Tonight, I’m making peach crisp from scratch as I watch/listen. Without jinxing anything, let’s just say the game is off to a nice start. I’m going to have to figure out something domestic to do tomorrow ASAP.
Meanwhile, during tonight’s game, Anthony Rizzo crushed one to center field for his 100th career homer, giving the Cubs an early lead:
Interesting on that: it looks like Wacha put it exactly where he wanted it, but … what was Yadier Molina doing? Did you see it? He was completely turned sideways – talking to the dugout? – as Wacha started his delivery. He almost looked startled when he turned back to see that the ball was on its way. I’m not sure that it impacted anything, but it’s strange, just the same.
In any case: go, Anthony Rizzo. I’d say he’s got a couple more sets of 100 in him, at least, before it’s all said and done.
