Anthony Rizzo’s 30th Homer Kicks Off 6-Run Inning (VIDEO)

Anthony Rizzo crushed his 30th homer of the year in the 5th inning today, the Cubs’ first homer in some 38 innings:

That was a bad miss from Charlie Morton (even though it still looked like a tough pitch to hit as far as Rizzo did), upon whom the Cubs would not let up – nor when the bullpen came in – and Rizzo’s homer was just the start of a nightmare inning for the Pirates, which yielded six Cubs runs.

Rizzo’s shot went nearly 400 feet, and gave him back-to-back 30 home run seasons. He hit 32 last year, so that’s his mark to top for the rest of the season.
