Cubs Lineup: Ross, Soler In

Chicago Cubs News

The Chicago Cubs return home to Wrigley Field in their home opener against the Reds, but, they’ll do so without Javier Baez or Kyle Schwarber.

Maybe Schwarber wasn’t likely to get the start in this one, anyway, but against Reds lefty Brandon Finnegan, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see Javier Baez drawing a start today. Although the Cubs are (and will be) missing both of those guys, they have managed to outscore their opponents 42-15 throughout their first 6 games.

With Jon Lester on the mound, David Ross draws the start behind the plate and Jorge Soler is back in there in left. Here’s today’s Cubs lineup against the Reds:

Chicago Cubs Lineup

1. Dexter Fowler, CF

2. Jason Heyward, RF

3. Kris Bryant, 3B

4. Anthony Rizzo, 1B

5. Ben Zobrist, 2B

6. Jorge Soler, LF

7. Addison Russell, SS

8. David Ross, C

9. Jon Lester, P

Also, to help get you hyped for the home opener, here’s a steel drum band playing “Go Cubs Go,” which is freaking awesome:
