This was a fun email to get today, especially after last night’s frustrating Chicago Cubs loss:
Just got an email from Bovada w/playoff odds … YOU CAN'T EVEN BET ON THE CUBS IN THE CENTRAL ANYMORE. TOO BIG. pic.twitter.com/EmCO7h8684

You literally cannot bet on any team in the NL Central anymore. The odds are apparently so skewed toward the Cubs at this point that the oddsmakers are almost kinda saying, “Yeah, the Cubs have basically won it.” Which is nuts.
For what it’s worth, BP has the Cubs’ odds of winning the NL Central at 98.9% and FanGraphs has it at 98.0%. Not sure if those are “take it off the board” level, but they’re strong. Very strong. Almost comically strong.
But I know. The worry is equally strong among Cubs fans. I’m not taking anything for granted or telling you that anything is guaranteed. I just thought it was fun.
