Chicago Cubs Lineup: La Stella Leading Off, Zobrist Cleanup

Cubs Lineups

happy cubs old logoWell, the Cubs couldn’t win their series against the Reds, but they can lock up this series against the Braves (remember how they split the other two games earlier this year?).

Chicago Cubs Lineup vs. Atlanta Braves (Lucas Harrell)

  1. Tommy La Stella, 3B
  2. Kris Bryant, LF
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Ben Zobrist, RF
  5. Willson Contreras, C
  6. Jason Heyward, CF
  7. Addison Russell, SS
  8. Jason Hammel, P
  9. Javy Baez, 2B

The Cubs are sticking with the lineup that features Jason Heyward batting down, and Javy Baez in the secondary leadoff spot. I like it.

I also like Tommy La Stella batting leadoff, given this group, with some serious thump going back-to-back-to-back-to-back in the middle.

Willson Contreras, upon whom Michael just lavished some praise, gets another start behind the plate. So far, he hasn’t shown to be a serious liability back there. Yes, he could stand to improve his receiving – it gets a little jumpy back there – but I’ve been impressed.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time.
