Had I the heart tonight, I could point you to some legitimately positive things to take away from tonight’s loss. Seriously. There were a lot, actually.
But a loss it was – their 9th in their last 10 games – and the heart I don’t have. We can reflect on the positives in the morning.
For now, I am concerned by the Cubs’ continued struggles with runners on base, continued struggles in the bullpen, and continued struggles of the rotation. Those things, combined with some gaffes, conspired to once again prevent the Cubs from having a real chance to win.
