While we await news on whether or not Dexter Fowler will be officially activated and start in tonight’s game against the Brewers as anticipated, there are some other Cubs outfielder updates to check in on.
According to a number of reports on Twitter, Chris Coghlan (rib) and Jorge Soler (hamstring) are headed to Double-A Tennessee to continue their rehab assignments and work their way back to the Major Leagues:

Next stop for Jorge Soler (hamstring) and Chris Coghlan (rib) will be Double-A Tennessee.

Some have asked why neither is headed to Triple-A instead of Double-A, but that’s almost certainly so that both can be at a Cubs’ home facility as they rehab (Iowa is headed out on the road), and not anything to do with present ability (you’ll recall Miguel Montero rehabbed in Tennessee last season, as well). In addition, it sounds like Coghlan will draw a start tonight and Soler will get action tomorrow:
Coghlan will start tonight, Soler on Saturday.

From there, depending on how either looks, they may spend a few days or up to/beyond a week’s time in the Minors, before working their way back to Chicago. Regardless of what that final length of time looks like, though, expect Coghlan to be slightly ahead of Soler.
