happy cubs old logoThe Cubs have rattled off five straight wins as they started their brief three-game road trip with a victory against the Athletics.

Jake Arrieta takes the mound for the Cubs in Oakland, looking to rebound from a winless July. Here is the lineup behind him.

Chicago Cubs Lineup v. Oakland Athletics (Sonny Gray)

  1. Dexter Fowler, CF
  2. Kris Bryant, 3B
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Ben Zobrist, 2B
  5. Addison Russell, SS
  6. Jason Heyward, RF
  7. Jorge Soler, DH
  8. Miguel Montero, C
  9. Willson Contreras, LF

The designated hitter is a nice option ot have in these interleague games (especially considering the Cubs’ current roster crunch) and Jorge Soler is a nice option to fill it. Soler gets a second straight start there, but slides down to seventh with Jason Heyward moving up to sixth. And after Kris Bryant admirably patrolled left field in Friday’s win, Willson Contreras gets his turn out there and bats ninth.

Javier Baez, who was Friday’s defensive star, gets the afternoon off.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time.
