Jake Arrieta Overwhelmed the A’s, and This Father and Son (VIDEO)

Yesterday, Jake Arrieta pitched eight scoreless innings against the Oakland A’s, the latest excellent outing in a bit of a turnaround for the Chicago Cubs’ ace.

It wasn’t until he was departing the game, however, that he had his best moment:

Speaking as a father of children who would be completed awed by high-fiving Jake Arrieta, that dad’s reaction hit me just right. He was overjoyed by himself getting to high-five the Cy Young winner, but he was also clearly over-the-moon because he shared the moment with his son.

I … I’m getting a little misty. Excuse me for a moment …
