wrigley stands crowdThe Cubs dropped yesterday’s game thanks to some goofs here and there, but they can still win this weekend set against the Giants by beating Johnny Cueto today. I hope he does the mound wiggle thing a lot. It’s fun.

For the Cubs, it’s John Lackey, back from the disabled list (shoulder strain), and ready to gear up for the home stretch. I’d be surprised if he’s permitted to go too deep into today’s game, even if he’s pitching well (as much as he might not like it). I’d just like to see five or six healthy innings where he looks like his normal self, whatever the results may be. No, Lackey’s injury was not necessarily serious, but the long-term picture is still the priority right now.
