BOOM: Kris Bryant’s 37th Homer Puts the Cubs on Top (VIDEO)

Chicago Cubs News

We’re not petty people necessarily, but I think everyone was wanting to see Kris Bryant do a little something in his trip to Houston this weekend, given the fateful decision that had the Astros passing him over in 2013 so that the Cubs could draft him at number two overall.

I say that not because there’s any bitterness – OBVIOUSLY! – but instead because it would just be a fun thing to smile knowingly about. Hey, remember that time you could have had the guy who is going to be the runaway NL MVP? And you didn’t take him?

Heck, Len and JD were talking about that very thing just moments before Bryant did this:

Thanks to the short porch there in left, the ball comfortably left the yard (though, in fairness, it likely would have been out in most parks), giving Bryant his NL-leading 37th homer of the year (tied with Nolan Arenado).

A little fun with baseball park dimensions and a ball that Javy Baez crushed a couple batters before Bryant:
