A Great Weekend of Cubs Baseball – Wake Up, Watch, and Catch Up

Chicago Cubs News

We had to wait an interminably long time for the Cubs’ first playoff game after their incredible 2016 regular season, and they did not make us suffer for nothing.

In Game One on Friday night, Jon Lester flashed his Cy Young-caliber, playoff-dominant ability, while dueling an equally effective Johnny Cueto. In the end, it was a Javy Baez moonshot that gave the Cubs the 1-0 win. David Ross was fantastic behind the plate, too.

In Game Two on Saturday night, the Cubs went up early on the Giants, and survived an early exit by Kyle Hendricks to go on to win. Travis Wood, who entered the game immediately after Hendricks, starred on both sides of the ball, with a scoreless appearance and a monster homer.
