So tonight, they decided to overcorrect.
First pitch tonight won’t happen in Chicago until 9:05 CT. Which is too late to start a baseball game, I reckon (but at least you can watch it on TV!).
But hey, Kyle Hendricks is on the mound against the D-Backs, and he’s got a five inning scoreless streak going this Spring.
In fact, he’s allowed just two hits and no walks against five strikeouts in his two Spring starts, so he’s looking like he’s ready to start another Cy Young campaign.
As for the Cubs offense, it’s the formidable Schwarber-Bryant-Rizzo up at the the top, followed by a bunch more regulars near the bottom. Willson Contreras is taking a breather tonight, while Miguel Montero catches (he may catch more than a typical back-up this year, after all).
And finally, Albert Almora becomes the best defender ever to be the designated hitter.
Today’s game is being broadcast on Comcast Sports Net Chicago, and the Cubs-based audio will be available at MLB.com. For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
