This afternoon, the Chicago Cubs are taking on the San Francisco Giants at Sloan Park.
And it’ll be on TV (CSN Chicago 3:05 CT)!
And not only is Jake Arrieta starting for the Cubs, but Ben Zobrist has returned to the lineup after dealing with some neck soreness for about a week.
Jason Heyward is also in the lineup and batting second this afternoon, so if you haven’t managed to get some eyes on his reworked swing just yet, this is the perfect opportunity.
Matt Cain is starting the game for the Giants. Surely, they’ll be hoping he gives the team a reason this year to pick up his 2018 option, after failing to reach 100 innings in each of the last three seasons. He’s due to make $20 million this season (after signing an extension back in 2012), but the Giants hold the (expensive) keys after that: $21 million option in 2018, $7.5 million buyout.
First step for Cain? Don’t give up a monster bomb to Jake Arrieta.
Today’s game will be broadcast on TV by CSN Chicago and MLB Network (out-of-market-only). The Cubs-based audio will also be available at MLB.com. For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
