Chicago Cubs Lineup: Exhibition Style in Houston, Addison Russell is Back!

Cubs Lineups

The Cubs have two more not-so-real games left before the regular season begins on Sunday, each in Houston against the Astros. Tonight’s installment features a lineup of mostly regulars, and the return of a certain shortstop.

Here’s the Cubs’ lineup:

  1. Kyle Schwarber, LF
  2. Kris Bryant, 3B
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Ben Zobrist, RF
  5. Addison Russell, SS
  6. Jason Heyward, CF
  7. Willson Contreras, C
  8. Javy Baez, 2B
  9. Tommy La Stella, DH

Starting Pitcher: Brett Anderson

Addison Russell is back! After sitting out a little over a week with back issues – mostly precautionary – the Cubs’ starting shortstop is back in the saddle, getting ready for Opening Night.

Want my guess? That top seven you see up there is the same top seven that the Cubs open with on Sunday, albeit with some position tweaks. After those seven, I think you’ll see the pitcher spot, and then the center fielder batting 9th.

As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time.
