We often joke brag about how frustrating it must be for opposing pitchers to face the top three of the Cubs lineup – Kyle Schwarber, Kris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo – at the start of every game.

But when the Cubs bat around in the first inning and that poor pitcher realizes that he has to do it all over again at the top of the second, the real dread settles in:

So even after sending nine batters to the plate and scoring four runs in the top of the first, the Cubs and Kyle Schwarber did not let off the gas.

Instead, he sent a rocket-shot homer way out to center field:

That homer was his second hit of the day and (as the title suggests) his second homer of the season. We’re not too far in yet, but he’s slashing a wonderful .261/.370/.609 here in the early going (27 plate appearances).
